National Chip and Dip Day

"Dip is defined based on its ability to maintain contact with its transport mechanism over three feet of white carpet." - Alton Brown

It's National Chip and Dip Day!

Sponsored by: Chicago Vegan Foods Teese Vegan Cheese

It's a big risk for a company to make a statement like, "we promise to create delicious cruelty-free food products with taste and texture similar to their animal-based counterparts."

But it's one that not only does Chicago Vegan Foods make, they also over-deliver on!

I think it's safe to say that one of the biggest "let downs" in the vegan food world is cheese products. They either taste great, but the texture's entirely off-putting (slimy, waxy, sticky . . . none of these are adjectives that should be used to describe cheese). Or, the texture is spot-on, but it tastes like crap (okay, not actual crap; more like moldy cardboard).

Tonight, I got to try Chicago Vegan Food's spicy nacho style Teese, and I was absolutely blown away at how perfect it was. It tasted, acted, and felt like totally sinful gloppy, goopy, orangey cheese sauce. I don't often say this, but if I had a house full of omnivores and fed them this, I know they wouldn't have any idea at all that it was vegan. That's just how REALISTIC this stuff is.

And now I LOATHE my local stores for not carrying it.

Chicago Vegan Foods core values include: veganism, environmental responsibility, and commitment to customers including service, quality, trust. It is infrequent that I see companies use the word "trust" in their mission statements regarding their customers. This, in and of itself, makes me entirely love them because I feel like they have a vested interest in me personally.

If you have access to Chicago Vegan Food's spicy nacho style Teese - get it. I don't care if you're a vegan or an omni, I guarantee you're going to love diving in to it.

Happy National Chip and Dip Day!
