National Glazed Ham Day

"I do not like them here or there. I do not like them anywhere. I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not like them, Sam-I-am." - Dr. Seuss

It's National Glazed Ham Day!

I haven't been looking forward to today. Not just because of what it stands for (basically we're celebrating the eating of a dead pig carcass), but because even in my pre-veg days I didn't like ham (as I've mentioned elsewhere, our Easter dinner for years was pizza). I just find it entirely slimy and chewy. The only saving graces of it were the maple syrup, brown sugar, pineapple, and cherries that made up the "glaze" part. Gimme a big ole' bowl of just that and I'd be quite content, thankyouverymuch.

When I voiced my concern about this day, everyone in my world seemed confused. "Why wouldn't you just eat a f'am [fake ham, for those of you not in the know] sandwich with some sort of glaze?" They asked.

"Because... because... I don't know. Can I do that?"

Yes. I can. Because it's my (non)bloody project and I can celebrate however I want.

Happy National Glazed Ham Day!
