National Biscuit Day

"Poetry is the synthesis of hyacinths and biscuits." - Carl Sandburg

It's National Biscuit Day!

Didn't we just have a biscuit day? I mean, seriously, how many carbs do our bodies need this close to swimsuit season?

Whatever: I've said it once, and I'll say it again... boys like curvy girls. So... bring on the biscuits!

I feel like there's this great debate in the U.S. that goes unnoticed. And that's the silent war between those of us who love savory biscuits and those of us who love sweet biscuits (I don't have this problem, because I'm an equal opportunity biscuit eater... again, have you seen mah hips?). For some, it's difficult to wrap their brains around a dinner biscuit that has "dessert-esque" qualities. A hearty jalapeno-cheddar biscuit? No probs. An orange-currant biscuit? Poo, poo, I think not!

All I crave lately is marmalade and tea (it's my inner Brit coming out since our weather's been so English lately), so I made me some biscuits to represent those flavors today.

Happy National Biscuit Day!
