National Iced Tea Day

"I'm trying to eat better. And, I do feel wise after drinking tea. After eating vegetables, I just feel hungry." - Carrie Latet

It's National Iced Tea Day!

Despite the fact that I'm a proud New England girl, I have always loved iced tea (then again iced tea as know it up here is very, very different from the iced tea in the south). When I was in middle school, I used to freeze bottles of it and bring it to school with me. As it melted, I had something sweet to drink throughout the day!

Whenever I'm too broke or just too lazy to buy something to drink at the grocery store, I always have tea on hand to make great big pitchers of it. Because of the different varieties - green, black, cinnamon, chamomile, jasmine, chai, spiced plum - and the plethora of sweeteners available to me in my pantry, I have the option to make different flavors every time. And it's so easy and inexpensive to do!

(If you look at the mason jar I'm holding up, you'll see it's shoved full of herbs - specifically lemon balm and mint.)

Happy National Iced Tea Day!
