National Apple Turnover Day

"For an apple you can't reach up and pick, you have to climb that tree; the tree won't bend down for you!" - Mehmet Murat ildan

It's National Apple Turnover Day!

Dear Apple Turnover,

I don't know if you know this, but its summer. Today was nearly 95 degrees with 110 percent humidity. Why am I telling you this? Because berries grow exceptionally well in this weather. BERRIES. When people think about this time a year its not YOU, lovely apple, that comes to mind. You are sweater-weather and foliage food, not bikini and freckle cultivating food.

But here you are, showing up during an inaproproiate time of the year begging to be recognized now as opposed to two months from now. I can appreciate that sort of eagerness and tenacity, but.... It's too hot to turn the oven on and make you, pal. You should appreciate the gallons of sweat that poured out of me into you (literally).

Happy National Apple Turnover Day!
