National Grand Marnier Day

"When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading." - Henny Youngman

It's National Grand Marnier Day!

I must be some sort of legend... or joke... to the local liquor store.

"It's Grand Marnier Day tomorrow!" I told the brunette lady, who always cashes me out, as I paid for the Grand Marnier, tequila, and Kahlua nips (to make a Sun and Surf shot).

"Yeah? How was National Anisette Day? You didn't actually drink the Sambuca and Jager together did you? We talked about what a disgusting combination that was for days."

"It was disgusting, yeah. It tasted like licking tar," I responded annoyed. She confirmed my paranoid beliefs that the places I frequented talked about me and the weird combinations of shit I purchased.

She smiled, "I'm sure this one will be better."

And it was.

Though it was very, very strong. It initially had that distinct, sour tequila flavor to it, but the finish - the aftertaste - was sweet and smooth.

Kinda like yours truly.

Happy National Grand Marnier Day!
