National Gummi Worm Day

Erin: "Gummy bears and gummy worms?" Michael: "Bears sad, worms happy... come on, Erin!" - Erin Hannon and Michael Scott, "The Office"

It's National Gummi Worm Day!

Whether you love 'em or hate 'em... gummi worms are ridiculously fun. They're just sticky and colorful, and the entire concept of eating worms appeals to the inner kid in me (which is, for some reason, always seen as the ultimate in gross deeds to children!). They're great in mud cakes, they're surprisingly awesome in ice cream, and they're super just as they are, too.

Gummi worms, which aren't the original gummi candy - those darn bears came out about 60 years beforehand! - were thought to have been first created in 1981 by the German company Trolli.

Today I'm celebrating with Surf Sweets. Their gummi worms are made with organic fruit juice, organic sweeteners, and contain 100% of Vitamin C per serving. They contain no corn syrup or gluten. And they taste just like juice. Well, like juice would taste if it congealed into a worm-shape that is. I know it probably sounds weird, but it's literally the best way to describe them. I was surprised at just how mouthwatering they were!

Surf Sweets was inspired by "fun, healthy lifestyles and food choices. Sunny days on the beach, riding a few waves, and enjoying the best candy on the planet – what could be better?" What COULD be better? Especially on a hot July day! Surf Sweets makes candy that not only tastes awesome, but is a better overall choice for both you and the environment (without any compromises in the flavor!).

Happy National Gummi Worm Day!
