National Hot Dog Day

"“Some people wanted champagne and caviar when they should have had beer and hot dogs." - Dwight David Eisenhower

It's National Hot Dog Day!

Did you know the world's most expensive hot dog was $2300 dollars? Served at the 230 Fifth Rooftop Bar in New York, it was made from richly marbled wagyu beef dry aged for 60 days laced with black truffles and placed on a brioche bun toasted with white truffle butter. Slathered with saffron-infused W Ketchup, caramelized onions cooked in Dom PĂ©rignon champagne, 100-year-old balsamic vinegar, homemade organic sauerkraut that was also braised with champagne and mixed with the finest caviar, and topped - of course - with a gold leaf.

Unfortunately, that's not how I'll be celebrating today.
(Though if I'm going to go out of this vegetarian world with a bang, I suppose there'd be no finer way, yeah?)

I'm a mustard, relish, raw onion, celery salt girl. Et tu?

Happy National Hot Dog Day!
