National Hot Fudge Sundae Day

"Always serve too much hot fudge sauce on hot fudge sundaes.  It makes people overjoyed, and puts them in your debt." -Judith Olney

It's National Hot Fudge Sundae Day!

Sponsored byWax Orchards

About a million years ago, one of those "rag mags" promoting the marriage of bat boy and iguana girl wrote an article about a new diet that revolved around ice cream. Apparently, you could eat all the ice cream you wanted in 90 seconds for a midnight snack, and it actually helped your metabolism.

I know this isn't true (though part of me wishes it was), but tonight - after an incredibly long day - the first thing I reached for when I got home was my almond milk ice cream and some hot fudge to drizzle over it. Because I was blessed with the opportunity to try a variety of wonderful products from Wax Orchards, the hot fudge I had was totally fat free, cholesterol free, and naturally low in calories. My hips really appreciated the break, lemme tell you.

I'm a little in love with this company I discovered only as a direct result of this attempt at eating the year. My sister stumbled across their site looking for vegan sweets for me (one of the most difficult things, in my opinion, of eating an entirely plant-based diet is finding suitable things to satiate chocolate cravings... did you know when humans are born they naturally crave sugar?). I'm glad she did. I've been so impressed with Wax Orchard's fruit-sweetened sauces and syrups, because they just taste so satisfyingly rich. This hot fudge sauce I'm eating with a spoon right now? Made from pineapple and pear juice concentrates, cocoa, and vanilla... crazy, right?

You can find Wax Orchards online, Facebook, and probably on the corner of my mouth as I type this...

Happy National Hot Fudge Sundae Day!
