National Chocolate Milkshake Day

"Ice cream was my undoing, and six chocolate milk shakes in a row were nothing to me at one time." - Kate Smith

It's National Chocolate Milkshake Day!

The first reference to a milkshake was in 1885 in a British newspaper. Milkshakes as we know them were invented in the 1920's by a Walgreen's employee in Chicago, though.

I'm really not a huge milkshake fan, but I knew exactly how I was going to celebrate today... and it didn't involve me having to make a single thing this time around (unlike Vanilla Milkshake or Coffee Milkshake day). There's a gelato place in town that makes the best vegan sorbetto I've ever had. It's called "Dark Chocolate Noir" and it's the most creamy and intense chocolate I've ever tasted in my life. I thought it would taste sensational as a milkshake with some soy milk.

And it did.

I love it when these food holidays go as planned.

Happy National Chocolate Milkshake Day!
