National Bittersweet Chocolate With Almonds Day

"Make a list of important things to do today. At the top of your list, put 'eat chocolate.' Now, you'll get at least one thing done today." - Gina Hayes

It's National Bittersweet Chocolate with Almonds Day!

Alright, Amur-KAH, I think at this point you're just taking separate food holidays and smashing them into one. "Let's see now here... we've had ourselves a National Bittersweet Chocolate Day. And we've had ourselves a National Almond Day. What haven't we had yet? HOLD UP A DANG SECOND. WHAT ABOUT A NATIONAL BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE ALMOND DAY?"

And here we are.

What's awesome about bittersweet chocolate? It's a good source of natural antioxidants (flavonoids to be exact) that reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

What's awesome about almonds? They help relieve constipation, respiratory disorders, cough, anemia, impotency, and diabetes.

Put them together and it's like you have some superhuman food. Mind blown, right?

I've never tried my hand at making biscotti, but today seemed like a good a day as any to change that (and a much more fun way to celebrate today's food holiday than just regular, old chocolate covered almonds). Can you dig yo' man?

Happy National Bittersweet Chocolate with Almonds Day!
