National Pi Day

“A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.” - Tenneva Jordan

It's National Pi(e) Day!

Pi (π): a mathematical constant that describes the ratio of every circle's circumference which is 3.14 (it's actually trillions of digits long, but most people just remember the first three numbers).

It only makes sense, then, on March 14th to celebrate Pi (FYI - it's also Albert Einsten's birthday.... "As far as we can discern, the universe is a very SILLY place.")! As a matter of fact, it's become so popular to celebrate, that in 2009 the US House of Representatives passed HRES 224, a non-binding resolution, recognizing March 14th as National Pi Day.

There are loads of different wants to honor today, but (in my opinion) the best is obviously with pie. One of my favorite treats is hot blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream and since I haven't had it in a while, that's exactly what I'm going to snack on. Y'know, while thinking about irrational numbers that never end, that is. 3.14159265359...

Happy National Pi(e) Day!
