International Sauvignon Blanc Day

“With bread and wine you can walk your road." - a Spanish proverb

It's International Sauvignon Blanc Day!

Move aside Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Moscato, and Reisling. Today's featured white is the crisp, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc.

Sauvignon Blanc - which is typically herbaceous and contain fruit flavors like peach, passion fruit, grapefruit, melon like honeydew, and lime - originated in the Bordeaux region of France, but now countries like New Zealand, Africa, and Chile are producing it as well. So is the U.S. - as a matter of fact, today's holiday was created as a global social media wine tasting event by St. Supéry Vineyards & Winery located in Napa Valley California.

While you're enjoying your Sauvignon Blanc with sushi, ravioli, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, or a really good book, or be sure to tag your photos and posts today with #SauvBlanc!

Happy International Sauvignon Blanc Day!
