Totally Chipotle Day

It's Totally Chipotle Day!

Besides being fun to say (because the two words rhyme... just in case you were still unsure of how to pronounce that confusing c-word), Totally Chipotle Day is a glorious twenty-four hours dedicated to getting your heat on. And what better day to do it then on Cinco De Mayo! Today was created by, none other than, Totally Chipotle® Foods (started by The Rock & Roll Chef®), purveyors of chipotle-flavored foods like bloody mary mix, ketchup, BBQ and wing sauce, and dry rub.

Did you know that a chipotle pepper is really a jalapeño? If a jalapeño is left on the vine it will ripen, turn bright red, then begin to dry out. At that point, they're picked then smoked for several days to remove any remaining moisture (which is where that unique smoky heat comes from!).

And now you're all the wiser, foodies.
